• In addition to kimono rental, obi belts, zori sandals, tabi socks, and accessories are included. Hair and makeup services, as well as photo shoots, are not included. Depending on the type of kimono rented, a deposit may be required.
• We offer delivery services for kimono dressing to your photo studio or party hall. Please feel free to inquire if you would like to use this service.
• We can refer you to a hair and makeup artist for either regular or traditional Japanese styles. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need these services.

着物好きな母の影響で幼い頃からよく着物を着せてもらいました。高校生の頃から着物に興味を持ち着付けを習い始め、全日本和装コンサルタント協会の和装着装士、着物着付指導士の資格を取得しました。

現在サンデイエゴで着物着付教室、着物のファッションショーや着付けデモンストレーションを開催、毎月、着物を着て皆さんと外食をするのを楽しんでます。

私が着物レンタルを始めたきっかけは、着物好きの母のタンスにたくさんの着物が眠っているので、なんとかその着物を表に出して、多くの皆さんに着ていただき喜んでいただきたかったからです。そして七五三、二十歳の成人式、卒業袴など記念写真として多くの人に残してあげたいと思っています。

Yuko Niwa’s passion for kimono began in her youth, inspired by her mother’s love for traditional Japanese attire. She earned her license from the Japan Waso Consultant Association as a Kimono Dresser and Instructor.

Since moving to San Diego in 1994, she has been actively promoting Japanese traditional culture through activities such as kimono fashion shows and kimono photography at charity events.

In 2014, Yuko joined the San Diego Kimono Club, where she teaches kimono dressing and organizes fashion shows and demonstrations. Her love for kimono extends beyond her professional work; she enjoys wearing kimono and dining with fellow members.

Additionally, she provides kimono dressing services every year for the Shichi-Go-San and Coming-of-Age ceremonies held at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego. I invite you to join us for these special occasions!
