◉ Japanese school or local school?
In what language will they think and learn? For children in the developmental stage of acquiring their native language, "in what language will they learn?" is a very important question that relates to "in which country will they base their lives?"
◉ About English education and global education at Nishiyamato
While continuing the traditional Japanese education we have practiced so far,an advanced bilingual education and leadership development curriculum. In the future, we will establish this as the "Nishiyamato Method." We will deliver the best education that only Nishiyamato, with its 28 years of experience in English-speaking Los Angeles, can provide.
◉ Guaranteed career path after returning to Japan
Our sister school recommendation system, which allows students to join one of the top three universities in terms of acceptance rates to the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University,
combines Japanese education that exceeds the national standard with international education unique to the United States. Students can make the most of their experience in the United States when pursuing higher education after returning to Japan.

◉The role of schools in
recent years has been changing. If the goal is simply to acquire knowledge, this can be achieved by using textbooks, reference books, online tutoring services (both paid and free), and video streaming services from major educational content providers. That is why schools must provide opportunities to acquire a great deal of knowledge, but without becoming overly focused on that alone. They must be places where students can experience the joy of expanding their world by interacting with others and learning from their perspectives, which can be gained through spending time in a group. Nishiyamato Gakuen, while operating online, will continue to educate children as a "school" with this as its core principle.
◉Learning together with classmates through interactive live sessions
"Hey, let me see that more clearly," one student said to another. This was a scene from a ZOOM class held at Nishiyamato Gakuen one day. After the student showed them, the teacher continued, "Can you tell everyone what kind of tricks you used?" Nishiyamato Gakuen insists on "interactive live classes" rather than video streaming because they value the opportunity to make comments that can only be made in that moment, and to encourage stimulation and mutual improvement among the other children who are watching. "Class consciousness" makes a big difference in motivation.
◉ High-Quality Teachers at Nishiyamato Gakuen:
Teachers must always understand the objectives of the lesson (what students will understand and what they will be able to do). They must assess the level of development appropriate for each age group, always acknowledge the children's progress, and continuously present them with the next hurdle they feel they can overcome. Furthermore, the quality required of online supplementary schools is to make lessons even easier to understand than in-person classes, to encourage mutual learning among students, and to convey a lively atmosphere even through a screen. The teachers at Nishiyamato Gakuen hold Japanese teaching licenses or have many years of experience in supplementary school education, and are a group of teachers who are passionate about teaching Japanese to children living in America. Please feel confident entrusting your child's education to us.
