A Japanese garden that showcases Japanese culture through seasonal events and much more.
Balboa Park in downtown San Diego has a Japanese garden, and hosts seasonal Japanese events such as a cherry blossom festival in spring, Tanabata and lantern floating in summer, and moon viewing in autumn

Annual passes are a great deal! Students can enter the park as much as they want for one year for just $35!
Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for students, military personnel, and those 65 and older, and free for children under 6. An annual pass allows entry to the Botanical Garden in Encinitas and over 300 other partner gardens across the United States
How about starting a wonderful new hobby in a garden setting, such as yoga or flower arranging?
Regular classes: Ikebana (flower arrangement), Yoga, Koto (Japanese harp), Sound Meditation, Kintsugi (gold repair), Nunchaku (puppetry), Temari (decorative ball), Tea Ceremony
Every November, we hold a photo shoot event that includes kimono rental and dressing services for Shichi-Go-San (a traditional Japanese rite of passage for children)!
In 2024, the event will be held on November 2nd (Sat) and 3rd (Sun). Registration is available through the website
