• We can also introduce you to Japanese beauticians specializing in makeup, hair, and traditional Japanese hairstyles, so please feel free to contact us
• In addition to kimono rental, obi belts, zori sandals, tabi socks, and accessories are included. Hair and makeup services, as well as photo shoots, are not included. Depending on the type of kimono rented, a may deposit be required.
• We offer delivery services for kimono dressing to your photo studio or party hall. Please feel free to inquire if you would like to use this service.

Kimono dresser Yuko Niwa

Influenced by my mother, who loved kimonos, I was often dressed in kimonos from a young age. I became interested in kimonos when I was in high school and started learning how to wear them, eventually obtaining qualifications as a kimono dresser and kimono dressing instructor from the All Japan Kimono Consultant Association

Currently, I run kimono dressing classes, kimono fashion shows, and kimono dressing demonstrations in San Diego, and I enjoy going out to eat with everyone while wearing kimonos every month

My reason for starting a kimono rental business was that my mother, who loves kimonos, has many kimonos lying dormant in her closet, and I wanted to somehow bring them out into the world and let many people wear them and enjoy the experience. I also want to help many people create lasting memories through commemorative photos for occasions such as Shichi-Go-San (a traditional Japanese rite of passage for children), coming-of-age ceremonies at age 20, and graduation ceremonies in hakama

Yuko Niwa's passion for kimono began in her youth, inspired by her mother's love for traditional Japanese attire. She earned her license from the Japan Waso Consultant Association as a Kimono Dresser and Instructor.

Since moving to San Diego in 1994, she has been actively promoting Japanese traditional culture through activities such as kimono fashion shows and kimono photography at charity events.

In 2014, Yuko joined the San Diego Kimono Club, where she teaches kimono dressing and organizes fashion shows and demonstrations. Her love for kimono extends beyond her professional work; she enjoys wearing kimono and dining with fellow members.

Additionally, she provides kimono dressing services every year for the Shichi-Go-San and Coming-of-Age ceremonies held at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego. I invite you to join us for these special occasions!
