Learn Japanese language and culture in a fun way on Saturdays. For kindergarteners to junior high school students

Kokugo Gakuen is a Japanese language school in San Diego that provides an environment where children growing up in America can learn Japanese and become familiar with Japanese culture. Established in 2010, this non-profit organization offers classes for kindergarten, elementary, and middle school students every Saturday

In the kindergarten program, children will learn to read and write hiragana and katakana by graduation, while enjoying finger plays, songs, crafts, outdoor play, and Japanese events. In the elementary school program, children will learn Japanese language, kanji, and Japanese culture according to Japanese language textbooks. In the junior high school program, grammar and reading comprehension skills will be further developed, and children will be able to express their own thoughts in Japanese

The appeal lies in being able to become familiar with not only the Japanese language but also Japanese culture and events together with peers of the same age. Inquiries about free trial enrollment are also welcome

The curriculum follows Japanese language textbooks, ensuring a solid foundation in Japanese language and kanji. It allows students to easily balance their studies with their local school life while developing their Japanese language skills and experiencing Japanese culture
