Los Angeles Supplementary School (Asahi Gakuen)
Asahi Gakuen is a supplementary Japanese language school in the Los Angeles area with a 57-year history.
To help children who plan to return to Japan or may live in Japan in the future adapt smoothly to life in Japan, we offer supplementary classes every Saturday from kindergarten to high school at four campuses: Santa Monica, Torrance, San Gabriel, and Orange. (High school classes are held in Torrance, Orange, and Santa Monica.)
We receive financial and personnel support from the Japanese government, and our classes adhere to the Japanese curriculum guidelines, using approved textbooks and conducted entirely in Japanese. Within the limited time available, we primarily teach Japanese language, mathematics, social studies, and science.
